The Dead Sun

Check out www.smugrock.com and this week's featured artist. The band?  The Dead Sun. This is the first recorded track from this new powerhouse of a band. This is the newest project from Danger Limited President, Jimmy Danger.   They will have their live performance debut on Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Ottawa Tavern in Toledo, Ohio.  They are playing to support the release of the amazing Toledo garage rock compilation, Nowhere At All, which was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered with lots of sugar by everyone's favorite Dave Picciuto.

Also, be sure to come out and show your support for Dave's new release by coming to the Ottawa Tavern February 3, 4 and 5 for the 3-day cd release party.  All the bands showcased on this compilation will be performing.  Catch Boogaloosa Prayer headlining the Saturday February 5 show.  Boogaloosa will also perform in store at Culture Clash records the same day.  Fans, that gives you a chance to catch the boys twice in one day!  We look forward to seeing you there!

IT'S ABOUT TO GET LOUD IN TOLEDO!!

Have you checked out this amazing new Boogaloosa track??  Thanks to Dave Picciuto and his new project highlighting the garage rock sound of Toledo, Boogaloosa fans have a brand new track to tickle their inner earballs!!  They were the featured artist of the week a few weeks ago,  and we couldn't be more proud. The whole project is amazing, and Toledo music fans are lucky to have someone like Dave to compile this and put it in their hands. The cd also includes another Danger Limited Sound band, The Dead Sun. This is a new project with Jimmy Danger, Kelly Johns, Matt Ruch and Jen Dewar.  Keep an eye out for these guys!  They will make their live debut this February on Friday, February 4th at the Ottawa Tavern here in Toledo promoting the release of Nowhere At All.  Boogaloosa will also play this three day event, headlining the Saturday, February 5th show. It's going to be a great weekend in Toledo rock history!  Be sure to be there!

When Boogaloosa went to record their track for the aforementioned album, the boys went in with a rough idea for something new and hoped for the best.  What came out was spectacular.  Written in under an hour, the boys nailed this recording in one take.  I was lucky enough to be in the room with the band as they recorded and documented the experience with my camera.  Below are a few of the images.

Keep an ear out this year for some new recordings from Boogaloosa Prayer on Danger Limited.  2011 is going to be a great year.  Also, don't forget to check out www.smugrock.com and become a fan of their Facebook page. How about a nice little winter tour fellas??!  Danger Limited is getting geared up for a lot of really great things!  We are so happy to announce Henry & June's winter February 2011 reunion tour!!! Much fun was had back in April putting together the first reunion show, and we cannot wait to see them do it again! The tour in February will take the boys (and the lovely Danger Limited staff) to six different cities to play six very special and unique shows.  This tour will also support the launch of Danger Limited's first double release, Henry & June's Then and Now.  This cd highlights the mystique of the band in the early 90s and captures the excitement of the 2010 reunion show. 

Filming for the upcoming Henry & June documentary will continue to take place during the February tour as well.  Yes, documentary.   We are very proud of this project.  The promo  above is also a sneak peak of the documentary.   This project will be out sometime next year from princessFilms with Danger Limited Sound Recording Company.  Keep on the look out!!
